Bayern Munich create new European record with 14 straight wins

by admin

Bayern Munich’s superb run to start the season had seen them draw level with AC Milan’s 1992/93 record via a 3-0 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach on the weekend, with both the Italians and Bayern having won 13 matches on the bounce to start a new season. Some argued that Bayern had deserved to nick the record due to superior goal difference, but any arguments of that sort could be put to rest after a 4-1 win away to FC Köln in the DFB-Pokal.

FC Bayern celebrate their 14th consecutive competitive victory with a 4:1 win away at Köln in the DFB-Pokal – a European record! An incredible run under Vincent Kompany. Harry Kane is now on 22 goals for the season, and it’s not even November yet.

Now the only question is this: How long can Bayern extend that perfect run and what will the record look like when the Bavarians finally fail to win a match?

Bayern Munich traveled to Cologne for a midweek DFB-Pokal tilt with FC Köln.

Heading into the match, the Bavarians were riding high, but the squad knew that FC Köln would not be an easy out in front of its home crowd. Ultimately, Bayern Munich pulled out a 4-1 victory doing exactly what they have done to every other opponent it has had of late — wear them down and pounce.
