After thrashing Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 at home on Saturday, Bayern Munich will immediately their attention to a rematch with Paris Saint-Germain. PSG was the last opponent to defeat and hold a clean sheet against Bayern. Following that loss in the 2025 Club World Cup, Bayern has rattled off an unprecedented 15 consecutive victories to start the 2025/26 campaign.
Bayern Munich captain Manuel Neuer applauded the whole squad’s dedication to the quick win over the 2023/24 Bundesliga champs.
”We know what good guys we have, and they showed that,” said Neuer (via FCBayern.com). “We weren’t afraid at all because we know the team, we know the players – so it was really cool. Everyone knows what they have to do. The confidence is there, no matter the position, no matter who starts. You could see that from the first minute. We’ve continued to improve the routines we practiced last year. Everyone has internalized them, which is why they’re working this season too. Against PSG, the chances are 50/50. They’re a strong team, but we can still give them a hard time. We’re looking forward to this game.”
Both Bayern and PSG are viewed as Champions League contenders. This League Phase contest could potentially be a preview of the May 2026 final hosted at Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary.
