Bayern Munich has reportedly already set its eyes on Feyenoord Rotterdam talent Givairo Read — and the news has caused a reaction in the Feyenoord locker room.
“My teammates make jokes about Bayern Munich, suddenly speak German to me and so on, which is funny,” the 19-year-old shared in comments captured by FussballTransfers, via @iMiaSanMia_GER. “But it doesn’t distract me.”
Feyenoord, led by coach Robin van Persie, is currently neck-and-neck with PSV Eindhoven at the top of the Eredivisie, and Read is the mainstay at right-back. After two goals and six assists last season, he already has three assists in this campaign, just ten matches in. Bayern could use a young two-way threat at right-back and there’s every indication that Read could blossom into that guy.
However, his contract runs until 2029, and the interest is likely only to ramp up. Keep an eye on this one, though — the Bavarians are in early.
