Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany regrets Achraf Hakimi’s injury

by admin

Bayern Munich’s Luis Diaz took down Paris-Saint Germain’s Achraf Hakimi in the first with a sliding challenge from behind. While initially judged as a yellow, upon VAR’s intervention and the inevitable impact of Hakimi’s injury led to a straight red card for Luis Diaz. Despite the varying opinions on the color of the card, Vincent Kompany made it clear that such injuries are regrettable and wished a speedy recovery for the PSG man.

Recalling Bayern’s own experience with Jamal Musiala’s injury, VK spoke about Hakimi’s injury (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “I hope Hakimi will be back soon and that it’s nothing serious. We never want to see that. We experienced something similar with Jamal Musiala in the US. Such moments are not nice. We hope Hakimi will recover quickly,” he said.

Having scored a brace, Diaz could have avoided the challenge on Hakimi. Meanwhile, Jamal Musiala who is currently recovering from a very serious ankle injury from the FIFA Club World Cup is expected to be back in the second half of the season.

Bayern Munich pulled out a wild 2-1 victory in a game that will be talked about quite a bit. So, why don’t we kick it off. This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:
