PSG manager admits Bayern Munich was better 11v11 during 2-1 Champions League loss

by admin

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique saw what everyone else did during his team’s 2-1 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League — the Bavarians were better.

”When it was 11v11, there’s no doubt [Bayern were better]. Of course, they were superior to us in the first half. They created more chances and we gave them some lovely gifts in the first half. When you give away such presents against such players they will score. I don’t make any excuses, it’s our responsibility to do better. I don’t have an explanation, it is like that. We gave away several gifts. They scored two goals but could have scored four. I am disappointed to see this because I expected to see a better level,” Enrique told ESPN (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).

Enrique is not wrong. Bayern Munich was an absolute machine in the first half and it could be argued that the Bavarians even outplaying PSG in the second half, while being down a man.

That is no small feat when considering just how deep and talented PSG’s roster is this season.

Bayern Munich pulled out a wild 2-1 victory in a game that will be talked about quite a bit. So, why don’t we kick it off. This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:
