November is certainly an early time for silly season to start. But, according to Florian Plettenberg, this does not put Bayern Munich off. Instead, they are already moving to secure Feyenoord right back Givairo Read:
Givairo Read is high on FC Bayern’s shortlist for next summer. Feyenoord have now been officially informed that talks have already taken place between Read’s camp and Bayern. Bayern’s plan: the 19 y/o top talent is to be developed as a long-term option behind Konrad Laimer. Several top Premier League clubs are also in the race and calling. Price valuation: €25-35m. Contract until 2029.
The Dutch right back broke through last season at Feyenoord under head coach Robin Van Persie, making various appearances throughout the season, even in the Champions League (though thankfully he missed the 3-0 win over Bayern). Around February, he solidified himself as a regular starter and has kept that role up until now. Read is well known for his speed and crossing ability. Interestingly, Read plays in a somewhat similar way to how Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany likes his full backs to play, inverting to play as something of a #8.
