Bayern’s Eberl heaps praise on Upamecano and Tah after UCL win vs PSG

by admin

Bayern Munich were prepared for a match in Paris and they got it, though perhaps not quite the way they were expecting. After racing to a 2-0 lead against Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League courtesy of two goals from Luis Díaz, the Colombian’s subsequent dismissal around half time saw the Bavarians put under a lot of pressure in the second half as the Parisians tried to find a way back into the match.

But Bayern Munich’s center back pairing of Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah stood strong and weathered the storm, with the Bavarians running out with a 2-1 victory. After the match Bayern’s board member for sport, Max Eberl, was asked about the center back duo’s performances. Eberl gave them the simplest and highest praise he could: “Give both of them a 1 [rating]. Both deserve it,” he said, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, before adding a few words on Luis Díaz. “Maybe Lucho also deserves a 1 for the first half, but I know he will get a worse rating due to the red card. I think we played really well as a team.”

Bayern Munich pulled out a wild 2-1 victory in a game that will be talked about quite a bit. So, why don’t we kick it off. This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:
