Hamann says Liverpool’s Flo Wirtz could’ve had success at Bayern Munich

by admin

The summer of 2025 will always go down in Bayern Munich lore for the failed pursuit of then-Bayer Leverkusen attacker Florian Wirtz.

Once considered a shoo-in to join Bayern Munich, Wirtz ultimately shocked the world and chose Liverpool…which has not exactly worked out to be a dream move just yet.

Noted pundit Didi Hamann thinks that Wirtz would have been successful at Bayern Munich, but also said that he believes the Germany international will be successful at Liverpool.

“Florian Wirtz could’ve had success at Bayern, but I liked that he didn’t choose the easy way; he could have gone to Bayern, won the league, and perhaps played a decent role in the Champions League,“ Hamann told ESportsBets.com. “If he had gone to Munich, I think it would have given them a better chance to be successful in the Champions League, even though they are doing well at the moment. He’s a tough kid, and as I said, one or two games can make all the difference.”

Wirtz likely would have been a better, immediate fit at Bayern Munich, but his current struggles are something he can likely overcome at Liverpool. Sometimes, it is fun to think about how Wirtz would fit within Bayern Munich’s red-hot attack, but it is tough to think things could be much better than they are at the moment, even with Wirtz included in the mix.

Bayern Munich has kept up its winning ways and things are all good in Bavaria.

However, that does not mean that the Bayern Munich content machine has ceased production on talking points for us. Let’s jump in and have some fun. This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Football Works — Weekend Warm-up Show:
