Nico Schlotterbeck likely to miss Germany’s Luxembourg clash with injured foot

by admin

Borussia Dortmund’s star defender Nico Schlotterbeck is likely to miss Germany’s World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg.

Coach Julian Nagelsmann had already talked about Schlotterbeck’s injury (as captured by @iMiaSanMia) on Monday. A day later, Sky has reported that Schlotterbeck missed training again and is a major doubt for the game (also captured by @iMiaSanMia).

In Schlotterbeck’s absence, Bayern Munich’s Jonathan Tah is likely to start in defense, paired by either Schlotterbeck’s Dortmund teammate Waldemar Anton or national team returnee Malik Thiaw.

Germany will play Luxembourg on Friday before closing out their qualifying group against Slovakia in Leipzig on Monday. Two wins will see Germany qualify for the World Cup finals, while four points could suffice should results elsewhere favor them. It remains to be seen whether Schlotterbeck will be fit for the Slovakia game.

Bayern Munich sputtered into the international break with a 2-2 draw against Union Berlin.

While it was tough watch at times, there is no reason to panic…right? Right?

Right — and let’s talk about why, plus more on the next edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works Show:
