Germany led again by heavy Bayern Munich contingent

by admin

Germany’s squad for the November international period is out, and features five Bayern Munich players, all of whom can be expected to play important roles in the side — Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlović, Serge Gnabry, Leon Goretzka, and Jonathan Tah.

All of them will hope to have at least one start between Friday’s match at Luxembourg and Monday’s vs. Slovakia, and several could be in line for two. For head coach Julian Nagelsmann, the chemistry the Bayern contingent have shown at club level could prove invaluable.

“It’s very important. I’ve always said that national team coaches depend on the clubs,” Nagelsmann said in this week’s pre-game press conference (as captured via @iMiaSanMia). “It’s good for us that Bayern players are doing well and are having a good spirit. We need that here too.

“Compliments to them, the game in Paris in particular was impressive until the red card. They’re welcome to deliver the same intensity here with us.”

It sure would be nice to see the Bayern crew deliver for Germany with the swagger they have shown under Vincent Kompany lately. Germany’s World Cup campaign could use that energy.
