Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich will not be the only German national player missing Friday’s match against Luxembourg.
As fear, Borussia Dortmund center-back Nico Schlotterbeck is also expected to be held out with an injury per Bild (via @iMiaSanMia):
Nico Schlotterbeck is definitely out of tomorrow’s game against Luxembourg. But there’s hope he could be back in time for Monday’s decisive game against Slovakia.
Against Luxembourg, the losses of Kimmich and Schlotterbeck might not matter, but Slovakia has already beaten Germany and has some attacking players who could pose a threat to Germany. Clearly, Julian Nagelsmann will want both players back for that match., but will they be healthy?
The German national team is back in action and has two very winnable games during this international break. With Luxembourg and Slovakia on deck, the Germans should be well-poised to pick up two victories.
Against Luxembourg, Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann should be able to play with his lineup a bit, but against Slovakia, Nagelsmann will have to be on-point. Last time around, Slovakia stunned the Germans 2-0 and Nagelsmann will want to avoid a repeat of that flat performance.
