Bayern Munich News: A slow winter ahead?

by admin

Bayern Munich are near-enough unstoppable, despite injuires to key players who will return in the near future. The expected, but admittedly short-sighted, decision is that no one will come in during the winter transfer window:

Bayern are not planning to be active in the January transfer window. The club’s bosses have decided that the squad is good enough as it is – and with the injured players returning – it will be strengthened even more.

Yes, Bayern have done well with what is in essence a razor thin squad, but not making a signing to rotate with the starters is amusing to say the least. Look at Michael Olise, he’s played every single match so far and he has no one to back him up. Lennart Karl is still too raw for big games and Serge Gnabry, the logical understudy, is already playing in the middle. Depth is incredibly important in the business end of the season because that’s when most trophies are decided.

Interpret the above however you like, but having quality depth cannot be understated.
