Bayern Munich Transfer News: Wirtz isn’t biggest EPL transfer flop

by admin

Recently, Gary Neville said Liverpool attacker and former Bayern Munich transfer target Florian Wirtz “looked like a little boy” during a loss to Manchester City.

However, former Crystal Palace forward and noted pundit Clinton Morrison says that there is no reason to crown Wirtz the biggest transfer flop in Premier League history just yet.

“I think it’s too early to judge that. I think there’s only been 11 games in the Premier League so far and it’s difficult coming to the Premier League at a young age and adapt to the best league in the world straight away. Liverpool haven’t been playing well so he’s coming to a team who are underperforming and that makes his job even harder with additional scrutiny,” Morrison told Freebets.com, the home of new casino sites. “It would only be fair to judge him after a full season under his belt. We’ve seen it lots where a lot of foreign players have come over and some have not hit the ground running but then after about four, five, six months they’ve been outstanding and showed their potential.

“So, I think you have to give him the full season to see if he can adjust and you know get to those levels which I think he can do.”

Wirtz turned in a solid performance vs. Luxembourg (not exactly Manchester City) during Germany’s 2-0 victory over Luxembourg on Friday, but that will not quell the mounting criticism in England. For his sake, hopefully Wirtz can turn the corner and get his season back on track as soon as possible.
