Germany national team news and rumors

Former Bayern Munich head coach and current German national team manager Julian Nagelsmann is going after the win against Slovakia on Monday (as he should — even if a draw can push his team through to qualification for the World Cup.

“It’s about having a plan and preparing the team well. The players are focused and determined to win. Being a bit nervous before such a game is normal. The situation is as it is. We’d have liked to win in Slovakia, but we take on this challenge as it is. We all assume that we’ll play a good game and get the three points tomorrow,” Nagelsmann said (via @iMiaSanMia).

One question that has been on the minds of many fans this weekend is about the status of both Joshua Kimmich and Nico Schlotterbeck for Monday’s showdown.

As it stands, Nagelsmann could have both players back.

“Schlotti is doing well, he will train normally today and I assume that he will play. As for Josh, we’ll decide tomorrow. We have good doctors and good physios, but it’s about the pain and how he feels. Josh doesn’t want to miss this game, so I assume that he will play,” Nagelsmann remarked.

There were some pictures that emerged from training as well.

So…it is looking good, eh?
