Adidas is planning to release a series of lifestyle shirts based on jersey designs in the near future. Bayern Munich is naturally one of the clubs set for a new shirt.
The good people over at Footy Headlines leaked the design of the shirt in question, and it is not a design that is too alien to the fans, although it is one that has not been seen in a while.
The shirt is quite simple, with a white/light beige background with neon orange details – stripes, logos, and collar. Both the Bayern and Adidas logos are in retro style. The shirt comes without a sponsor.
The shirt closely resembles the away kit from the 2012/13 season. It was worn during the club’s historic first treble, most notably in the Bundesliga title-clinching game at Eintracht Frankfurt, when Bastian Schweinsteiger scored the only goal of the game through a nifty backheel. Bayern thus won the Bundesliga in record time, a record they themselves broke the following season.
The shirt also slightly resembles the 2020/21 away kit, which was worn in the 8-2 drubbing of FC Barcelona en route to the second treble.
This is not the first time that Adidas have released a lifestyle collection for clubs. They have also done so over the past few seasons. However, the main difference is that both years’ shirts were based on the third shirt of the corresponding seasons, rather than a retro design.
The new line is set to be released in late 2025, so fans will have to wait a little while to purchase it.
