Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany ready for PSG test in Champions League

by admin

Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany is happy to be facing Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and understands the challenge of facing the defending UCL titleholders on a short week for preparation.

“We actually watch all the games. There are always new developments that we observe. With little time, it’s a lot of preparation. We’re used to it and it’s fun, it’s a good team that we had to analyze,” Kompany said (as captured by FCBayern.com). “One must believe that one can do it. One also needs a perfect game; we’re playing against the Champions League winner and one of the favorites. Away from home, it’s an extra level of difficulty. We must believe in our chance.

Kompany — as always — did not divulge much about his lineup for the match.

“There are always thoughts about who might be important in such a game. I’ll make the final decision tomorrow morning. Right now it’s 90 percent – 100 percent it will be on game day,” said Kompany.

It would be naive to think Kompany would reveal anything — even if his XI is likely going to be very similar to what we have seen many times so far this season.

The marquee match-up of this Champions League matchday is Bayern Munich’s visit to Pari Saint-Germain (sorry Liverpool and Real Madrid, this is the best game on the docket). Two of Europe’s most powerful squads will square off in what should be a true battle.

Talent will be featured at all positions and intensity will be off the charts, so let’s get down to brass tacks and discuss it! This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show:
