Bayern Munich’s Luis Diaz takes to Instagram to speak up on the PSG game

Bayern Munich are probably still celebrating a dominating win over Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League, continuing their incredible form and a 15 game win streak. The game itself, however, was full of emotions, with the clubs Colombian superstar Luis Diaz being sent off for a dangerous tackle on PSG’s Achraf Hakimi. It was an incident that sparked a lot of debate on social media, with PSG fans being rightfully angry, and Bayern fans perhaps satisfied with the tit for tat exchange following Jamal Musiala’s horror injury at the hands of Gigi Donnarumma.

After the game, Diaz took to his Instagram account to comment on what happened, and provide a statement that he needed to make.

“It was a night full of emotions. Football always reminds us that in 90 minutes, anything can happen the best and the worst. I was sad not to finish the match with my teammates, but proud of their incredible effort. Wishing Hakimi a quick return to the pitch,” typed out Diaz on his account. While he may not have provided an explicit apology, he said what he needed to say, and expressed regret for what he actually regretted.

Having scored a brace, Diaz was the hero of the game and won it for his club, the careless tackle that he probably could have avoided didn’t exactly change the course of the game, but it might impact Bayern in the near future, considering Diaz is now suspended for the game against Arsenal later this month. The game was full of careless tackles, with players on both sides being quite physical for the entirety of the game, and referee Maurizio Mariani had a busy night.
