Bayern’s Kompany ignores historic win streak to focus on next match

by admin

Sure, Bayern Munich just won away against the Champions League winners. Sure, they did it despite playing an entire half down a man. Sure, they extended their incredible win streak to start the season to 16 wins. But that is no reason to lose focus.

Speaking after the 2-1 win away to Paris Saint Germain, Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany repeated words he has said many times already this season: “I always tell my players: ‘When there’s hype please don’t believe it, you’re not that good — and when you lose a game or you have a bad performance, don’t believe that you’re bad, you’re not that bad’ — that’s something I always keep with me,” the Belgian coach explained, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “Now we’ve won 16. But from tomorrow it’s back to zero and we have to win the next game.”

That next game will be against Union Berlin, as Bayern look to focus on getting the three points against Die Eisernen.

Bayern Munich pulled out a wild 2-1 victory in a game that will be talked about quite a bit. So, why don’t we kick it off. This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:
