Joshua Kimmich praises Bayern Munich’s efficiency after defeat of Paris Saint-Germain

by admin

Bayern Munich went to Paris Saint-Germain with the almighty task of winning. Luis Díaz got the visitors going, but his dismissal made it difficult for them. Bayern eventually triumphed despite letting in a goal in the second half.

”We were able to hurt them in the first half. We didn’t necessarily have a lot of possession, but we created chances” Joshua Kimmich said (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia). “We were very present physically. It was one of the most intensive halves I’ve played in my career. In the second half we didn’t have much going forward but we defended really well. It’s not like they pinned us in our box and had big chances, they mostly had long shots, apart from João Neves’ header.” As for the hosts frequently attempting long shots, Kimmich simply said: “When you have Manu [Manuel Neuer] in goal, you can calmly let them take shots from distance.”

Bayern thus extended their winning streak to 16 matches. The Bavarians upcoming matches read: Union Berlin this weekend, Freiburg after the international break (boooo!!), and then another big test in the form of Premier League side Arsenal.

Bayern Munich pulled out a wild 2-1 victory in a game that will be talked about quite a bit. So, why don’t we kick it off. This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:
