Back on September 18th, Eintracht Frankfurt rocked Galatasaray 5-1.
Afterward, Galatasaray fans were very vocal in criticizing the team. For former Bayern Munich star Leroy Sané it was deserved criticism.
“The fans are naturally very emotional. When you play well, you’re celebrated incredibly, and then things can get a bit heated when you lose. It’s understandable that there might be some criticism, especially when you lose 1-5 in the Champions League. The fans certainly have every right to criticize us,” Sané told Sky Germany’s Kerry Hau.
Sané was accustomed to the vocal nature of fans from his time in Bavaria. Sometimes he was praised, other times he was bashed. With that, the Germany international has built up a thick skin — and an understanding that bad performances often elicit outrage from fans, especially online.
While those things might have been tough to endure for Sané at the time he first dealt with them, it has toughened him up and helped him understand the plight of passionate fans.
Bayern Munich is en fuego, but watching Paris Saint-Germain deal with the pains of trying to repeat in the Champions League can show everyone how difficult it is to stay healthy, be consistent, and catch all of the same breaks.
All of that is a big theme for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show! We’ve got a strong lineup of segments and some awesome questions from some dedicated listeners. Catch up on it all right here! This is what we have on tap:
