PSG boss respects Bayern Munich, but is not fearful

by admin

Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique has the requisite amount of respect for Bayern Munich and all that it has accomplished this season, but also does not want to put the Bavarians up on a pedestal.

“When we talk about their last 15 games, it’s almost unbelievable. We all know how difficult it is to win three or four games in a row – but 15,” said Enrique (as captured by FCBayern.com). “We also remember the Champions League games in which they only scored one or fewer goals against us. When I analyze our last game against each other, I have to say that it will be very close. It always comes down to little things in games like this.

“These little things define the complexity of football – and we’ll try to control them as best we can tomorrow.”

With two teams so talented, this game could be played out a number of different ways. While Bayern Munich is indisputably the hottest team on Earth, PSG is still the reigning UCL champion — and to get where Bayern Munich wants to go, it will have to overcome this type of challenge at one point or another.

The marquee match-up of this Champions League matchday is Bayern Munich’s visit to Pari Saint-Germain (sorry Liverpool and Real Madrid, this is the best game on the docket). Two of Europe’s most powerful squads will square off in what should be a true battle.

Talent will be featured at all positions and intensity will be off the charts, so let’s get down to brass tacks and discuss it! This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show:
