PSG’s Désiré Doué set to miss big Bayern Munich clash in the UCL

by admin

Bayern Munich is set to continue their Champions League campaign and will face Paris Saint-Germain F.C. on the 4th of November. The club is currently on cloud nine, with 14 wins and the squad on fire. Adding to that, news has just come out of Parc des Princes that might give Bayern a little boost.

Per a report from Sport Bild, PSG’s star attacker Désiré Doué recently found himself struck by quite a serious injury. Having to be carried off in a stretcher in the 63rd minute of PSG’s game versus FC Lorient, French media have reported that Doué suffered a serious muscle injury and will most probably have to miss the Bayern game next week. PSG coach Luis Enrique seemed shaken up after the game, as the injury was particularly painful. “I don’t know, I’m not a doctor, but it’s not good news. I haven’t seen the images,” said the Spaniard, who struggled to compose himself at the press conference. “Désire Doué‘s injury is bad news, of course. He injured himself in a somewhat strange way. I hope it’s not too serious.”

Doué’s absence will most definitely be felt by PSG’s squad next week, especially after his stellar performance in their last UCL game versus Bayer Leverkusen, having scored two goals and more than proving why he continues to be among the best. This might come as an advantage for Bayern, at least will be a relief for their defenders, but it will be a horrible blow to PSG themselves.

With the midweek DFB-Pokal match out of the way, Bayern Munich returns its focus to the Bundesliga.

In this instance, the animosity in the board room might be greater than what we will see on the pitch as Bayer Leverkusen will make the trip to the Allianz Arena to square off with league leaders.

While Bayer Leverkusen has made a strong turnaround from where it was at the beginning of the season, this group is still far from Xabi Alonso’s group of “wonder boys”, who won the Bundesliga two years ago.

Let’s dive into this match and break it all down. This is what we have on tap for the next edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show:
