Report: Bayern is not fully convinced of talented Adin Ličina

by admin

Adin Ličina was one of the five youngsters that Vincent Kompany brought to the first team’s 2024 pre-season in Seoul. There, the left footed right sided winger/attacking midfielder impressed with his trickery and technical quality. Looking to take that momentum into the 2024-25 season, he unfortunately suffered multiple injuries that severely hampered his progress and he made few appearances. His 2025-26 season has been much less injury plagues so far (jinx protector), but it has not been quite as good as he and Bayern may have hoped. He remains incredibly tricky and capable of highlight reel dribbles, but his physique has been lacking. For every dribble that sees him evade up to 4 opponents at once, the youngster is overpowered and dispossessed about three times. ky reporter Kerry Hau, as captured by @iMiaSanMia_GER, spoke about the situation:

The contract of Adin Ličin at Bayern is running out [in 2026]. After multiple injuries in the last year he is finally playing regularly again. But his biggest weaknesses are still intensity and physique.

He is still a brilliantly talented player and one of the best of his age group and Bayern would likely be keen to keep him if they did not have to offer him a serious chance of breaking into the first team. Given the doubts, the imminent expiry of his contract and the fact that Lennart Karl has firmly usurped him as the young left footed, right sided winger at the club, however, it seems that a separation is likely. But not guaranteed, either.

With the midweek DFB-Pokal match out of the way, Bayern Munich returns its focus to the Bundesliga.

In this instance, the animosity in the board room might be greater than what we will see on the pitch as Bayer Leverkusen will make the trip to the Allianz Arena to square off with league leaders.

While Bayer Leverkusen has made a strong turnaround from where it was at the beginning of the season, this group is still far from Xabi Alonso’s group of “wonder boys”, who won the Bundesliga two years ago.

Let’s dive into this match and break it all down. This is what we have on tap for the next edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show:
